pH Value
1. Why is the pH value important?
The pH value indicates how acidic or alkaline a liquid is and plays a central role in many bodily functions. In the human body, the pH value influences metabolism, digestion, enzyme activity and the acid–base balance, among other things. A balanced pH value is crucial for general health.
2. Why do we need a balanced pH value?
A stable pH value is important for: Acid–base balance: regulates the equilibrium between acids and bases in the body. Digestion: an optimal pH value in the stomach supports the breakdown of food and the absorption of nutrients. Enzyme activity: many enzymes only work efficiently at a certain pH value. Cell functions: a balanced pH value is essential for healthy cell regeneration. Immune system: an overly acidic environment can promote inflammation and weaken the body's defences.
3. Signs of an unbalanced pH value in the body
An unbalanced pH value can show itself through various symptoms: fatigue or lack of energy, heartburn or stomach complaints, skin problems (e.g. blemished skin), muscle pain or cramps, a weakened immune system and increased susceptibility to infections.
4. Possible consequences of an unbalanced pH value
A permanently disturbed pH value can cause health problems in the long term: Hyperacidity (acidosis): can lead to osteoporosis, kidney stones or muscle loss. Digestive problems: a stomach pH that is too low or too high can disturb digestion. Impaired kidney function: the kidneys are responsible for excreting excess acids. Increased risk of inflammation: an unbalanced pH value can promote inflammatory processes in the body.
5. How can the pH value be balanced?
The pH value is best regulated through a balanced diet and an intake of mineral-rich water. Recommended are: Alkaline foods: fruit, vegetables, nuts and pulses help to neutralise acids. Mineral-rich drinks: mineral water with a high bicarbonate content (> 1,000 mg/l), calcium and magnesium can help to balance the body's pH value. Avoiding acid-forming foods: sugar, alcohol, coffee and highly processed foods promote hyperacidity. Adequate fluid intake: water helps to excrete excess acids and relieve the body. A well-regulated pH value is essential for health. If complaints persist, a doctor should be consulted. If needed, we recommend our medicinal and mineral-rich waters, which can support the acid–base balance in a natural way.
